I attended the Sandy Puc Family Tour last night and was once again pleasantly happy as I drove home.  This is my third seminar.  I attended the Bellies & Babies tour two years ago and the Tots to Teens tour last year.  Every year, I leave with a wealth of information & inspiration.   Last night was no exception.  I left knowing what I’m doing.  What I’m put here to do.  What my role as a photographer is.  It’s to capture memories.  Freeze a moment in time.  I need to remind my clients & friends that THIS IS IMPORTANT.  You don’t purchase the paper the photo is on.  You purchase the memory printed onto it.  And I thank you.  I thank you for allowing me into your lives.  For allowing me to do what I love.

Thank you.

The next few days are going to be a whirlwind.  I’ll be spending the morning finalizing 2 galleries before noon.   After that, I’ll be taking Malia to a dental appointment.  Poor thing has such large teeth in a small mouth so cavities have been inevitable for her.  She receives her first filling tomorrow.  I hope to have my camera so I could capture her loopyness after she’s giving the nitrous oxide.  Haha!

After that, we’ll be waiting pretty close to the porch for a very super dee duper important present for a family that has had their heart broken this week and preparing the 4runner for a trip to Yakima.  We will be attending funeral services for a pretty awesome lady.  Her name is Cheryl Russell and she passed away on Sunday.  I remember my immediate shock when I received the news via a phone call from my cousin Dre.  I just talked to Cheryl the week earlier and I can not believe she’s gone to the higher heavens.

I’ve known Cheryl since around 2003.  She’s a wonderful mother to 4 beautiful children and 6 pretty sweet grandchildren.  She leaves behind a husband that simply adores her.  This past June, I photographed the wedding for her baby girl, Jennifer.  Cheryl, but I call her Mama Cheryl, was a treasure.  She was kind, sweet, always putting people before herself.  She had a smile that would light up the room.

Please pray for our safe travel to and from Yakima.  Jerry is still in Virginia for military training so it’ll be just me, the girls and baby sis, Faithe.  The viewing will be tomorrow afternoon and the funeral will be on Saturday morning.  And please say a prayer for her family and friends.  It’s sad to know that I have this loss in common with them but am very grateful that I’m able to be there this weekend to celebrate her life and the legacy she has left behind.

Here are a few photos that I took from the wedding in June of Cheryl.  Look at how beautiful she is.

Here’s Mama Cheryl painting her nails right before the ceremony.  She was busy helping everyone get ready and left this little detail and time to herself.  Isn’t she cute!

Her hubby giving her a sweet glance.  You can tell he loved her SO much.

She will be missed dearly but the heavens above will be gaining an angel.  An angel filled with patience and love for others.  Mama Cheryl?  Please say “Hello” to my mommy, baby son and father-in-law, Cheryl.  We love you.  You will be missed dearly.

sharing some love…

Hello maricar lianne photography clients!

Email or message me regarding your free Valentine’s day gift!

xoxox,

maricar

I was able to photograph some really cute kiddos the other day.  Amy & her kids were in town visiting and she wanted a quick mini-shoot.  I can’t believe how much they have grown!  We met at a local wildlife reserve for a great time!  It was hot, windy and everyone’s allergies were in full effect but we still managed to get some adorable photos!

Here’s Amy’s little girl, Hayden, in a teacup.  Look at the rolls on this girl.  So cute!

Amy’s son, Austin.  All boy & just loved playing in the rocks and dirt!

Amy’s friend, Britanny came as well.  Here’s Britanny’s little guy sporting a cowboy hat.  Yeehaw!  :)

Just one last one of the best buds showing the love.  Aww!

I recently had the honor of photographing a sweet teen in search of her family forever. I know belong to a group of photographers that give their time and talent to The Heart Gallery of Oregon. Check out their site, it’s beautiful and touching.

The Hughes Family

April 14, 2008

An adorable young family with a spunky little guy and sweet 2 month old girl. I met them at a nearby park and hit it off with the momma from the start. Don’t you just love it when that happens?! The daddy is in the military and just came back from 8 month tour of duty in Iraq. He leaves again for another 8 months. Talking about it brings tears to my eyes yet again. Oh what these men, women and families do for our country. Never forget to thank a soldier and his or her family. They are brave brave people.

Here’s one of the whole family. Had to get on top of the ladder and reach for this one! :)

Oh my goodness, these two are so sweet!!

Giving back – nilmdts

March 7, 2008

I’m officially a member of Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. An organization of photographers that donate their time and talent to capture an early life lost. As many of you know, I lost a child at 18 weeks gestation and to this day regret that I didn’t take enough pictures while I was pregnant with him and after I delivered him. This is just my small attempt at giving back and helping those who have lost a little one… to give them a little bit of memory to keep and to help them heal.
